Creole
Restaurant and Supper Club
Creole Restaurant & Supper Club 2167 3rd Avenue NY, NY 10035 http://www.creolenyc.com/                  The Scene: Bayou, Bayou on a Friday night! As soon as you walk in, you feel as though you are in the French Quarters. You are greeted at the door by a hostess and seated where all the action takes place. At this restaurant…that is anywhere! Experience beautiful art across the wall and live music (Jazz and Blues) while you sip on your French martini. Whether you are on a date, with some friends or out by yourself… the atmosphere and crowd accommodates all moods.                 The Food: I can honestly say, I was stuck on the appetizers all night. Don’t get me wrong, the entrée’s are yummy but Creole started my night off right with the Chicken/Spinach Rolletini. Tender chicken rolled with spinach and a perfect blend of spices…my mouth is still watering. Next up, Honey BBQ shrimp; if you like sweet and sour chicken and shrimp, no questions asked. Last but definitely not least…Muscles Bruchetta.. S soon as you take the first bite, you do not want to share. Unfortunately that is what I had to do ? The Restaurant Diva’s pick is open 7 days a week (I suggest you make a reservation) and the prices run to the mid twenties. I say...go for it! Tamboril
Latin Flava in BK!
TAMBORIL LATIN RESTAURANT BAR AND LOUNGE 527 Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11205 718.622.5130 www.Tamborilnyc.com                       If you are looking for a restaurant whose food is packed with an abundance of flavor, Tamboril Latin Restaurant Bar & Lounge on Myrtle Avenue in Brooklyn is DEFINITELY the place to be. While the name of the restaurant would suggest this is strictly a Latin restaurant, the menu is infused with tastes and cuisines from the Caribbean at large. As much of a Caribbean influence that the menu has, the good thing is that the food is not just your typical, curry and jerk dishes. The scene is intimate and sleek, the service is warm and friendly and the food is OFF THE CHART…so good and flavorful, after everything goes down the taste remains in your mouth moments later. Tamboril’s name is right on point because whether you are looking for a romantic evening for two in the dining area, or a night out with the girls, or guys at the bar, there is a space for you. I thoroughly enjoyed the bacalao cakes…very delicious with just enough kick of spices, the saltfish and tostones tapas were surprisingly tasty, as I normally do not like bits of peppers and tomatoes in dishes, their seafood paella was very fresh and I’ve never seen a house salad so intricate with mixed greens, mango, pineapple and avocado slices and a homemade citrus vinaigrette dressing. The dressing was very good, but I’m not a fan of mixed green salad. I must say my fave was the jerk plantain wrap…a delicious blend of sweet plantains wrapped in shredded jerk chicken pieces. Ok, so that covers the appetizers and entrees…now to the even better part…DESSERT. Saying I’ve NEVER had bread pudding so overwhelmingly good as the one ...

Belleville Restaurant
Can you believe it? French Cuisine in Brooklyn!
Belleville Restaurant 332 5th Street Brooklyn, NY 11215 (718) 832-9777 www.bellevillebistro.com The Scene – Open for dinner 7 nights a week, this French Bistro has both family night and date night written all over it. Located in Park Slope Brooklyn, you will enjoy the ambiance, service, people and yes…the food. Seated at a quaint table for two or a boisterous table for 5, you will sway to the sounds of great music playing while you sip on your favorite drink and take in the view of what I feel to be Brooklyn’s trendiest and friendliest street.                                 The Food – Now, what do you think of when you hear “French Restaurant”?...right off the back, I thought of caviar and escargot. At Belleville, though they may have them both, the chef has his way of infusing that acquired taste to blend with your taste buds. To get a little bit of everything, I had the “5 Course Tasting Menu” and let me tell you, “decadent” would be the word to described the meal…I was pleased. Starting with a fresh and crisp calamari salad and ending in light warm apples with ice cream for dessert…I was left full and happy. For this lovely dinner with all the amenities, your wallet won’t be disappointed. Prices varied up to $30…Bon Appetit!                 -- Ruthie D.   **Services may have been received free in exchange for a fair and unbiased review. FootPrints Cafe
Home of the Rasta Pasta!
Footprints Cafe 5814 Clarendon Road Brooklyn, NY 11203-5400 (718) 451-3181 www.footprintsny.com                  If you are looking for a traditional Caribbean cuisine, Footprints in Canarsie, Brooklyn has the answers you’re looking for. Footprints has the atmosphere of a Manhattan sports bar with a hip and trendy style, a great blend of R&B and reggae music and if you’re looking for a good cocktail…or two…they have a very extensive specialty cocktail menu. One thing I will say is if you’re looking for a nice slab of ribs, or ham you won’t find it here because they don’t serve any pork…which was great for me as a non-pork eater. The prices are very reasonable ranging from $3-$9 for appetizers and $10-$25 for entrees and not to mention, they do delivery and takeout…how convenient! The crab cake was my fave, but the Honey garlic wings and famous Cajun chicken rasta pasta was quite tasty…if you are not a lover of spicy food, take the leap in trying this delicious dish, but keep a glass of water handy! Footprints is a great place to hang out with the girls, or fellas, catch a game, or a fight on one of their flat screen TVs and even a spot to hang out with your significant other, though I wouldn’t recommend it as a “first date” pick if you’re looking for a quite more intimate setting – not because any style, or class is lacking. Also, if you’re planning on getting in there on a Friday night, make sure to get there before 9pm as it gets pretty packed. Another hot spot on my places to return list…I give this Restaurant DIVA dining experience 3 ½ stars. -- SweetTart              Open 7 days a week from 12 noon to 4am…the home of the ...

Billie's Black
Soul Food in Harlem
BILLIE’S BLACK 271 West 119th Street New York, NY between St. Nicholas Ave. & Frederick Douglass Blvd. Call: 212-280-2248 http://www.billiesblack.com/home.html                           There are three words to describe this place…MMMM MMMM GOOD! Billie’s Black blends the flavors of soul, Creole and Caribbean food together so delightfully I could not stop thinking about just how good everything was. The restaurant is a cute and cozy place with genuine and authentic Harlem décor…great for a Girls Night Out on the town, or a somewhere to take a hot date? Not to mention the daily themed events they have from jazz, poetry and open mic nights along with happy hour and after work specials. Not only does the cuisine touch your taste buds, it taps on your soul and I must say my faves were the salmon cake and catfish fingers (and I’m not even a lover of catfish…but deelish!). The menu…extensive! The variety…perfect! The price…reasonable! The entrees range from about $14-$24 and the service was worth every dime. I will definitely keep Billie’s Black on my places to return list and give this Restaurant DIVA dining experience 4 Stars! -- SweetTart LET’S JUST START BY SAYING I AM SOLD…The décor is very posh and comfortable and very relaxing…Billie’s Black is very live with a delightful neo-soul vibe. The blissful flavors of the south and the Caribbean food immediately sparked satisfaction to my hunger…Billie’s Black is indeed one of the smaller joint’s, but make no mistake, the menu is enormous and delicious with a wonderful variety of food. It was so hard to choose…luckily I was able to endure a compilation of appetizers, everything was delicious, but if I must choose…No you’ll just have to go see for yourself... This joint is a definite girl’s night out or date night ...
