Radio, unlike television, is primarily a faceless industry … radio connects the general public with personalities they love but rarely see. These faceless voices that cover the airwaves connect thousands of people who have similar interests, similar tastes in music, similar community concerns and, often, similar ethnic or cultural backgrounds and experiences. Toya Beasley of New York City 's WRKS-FM, is one of these voices.

WRKS, better known to most as 98.7 KISS, celebrates its 25 th Anniversary this year and boasts continued leadership in the ratings, in its creative programming, in its impressionable personalities and in its community involvement. This is in large part due to Toya's undying and ongoing efforts. Toya has been with KISS since 1989 when she started as a programming assistant and quickly worked her way through the ranks into her current position as Programming Manager where she has served since 1997 - everything that is aired on KISS must pass Toya's desk for approval. Although she is responsible for effectively dispensing a $2 million budget and supervising 42 staff members, Toya has most recently taken on the added responsibility of hosting New York City 's #1 Sunday morning gospel program, KISS Inspirations. The KISS Wake-up Club and the Wake-Up Club Tour, the Rhythm Review with Felix Hernandez, the Hour of Power with Rev. Al Sharpton, the annual KISS Coat Drive and the now nationally syndicated Michael Baisden Show are all products of Toya's innovative leadership.

Toya's professional accomplishments are many but nothing drives her more than her passion for God and His people. She has worked diligently at transferring that passion onto the airwaves and into the urban community. Toya co-founded the KISS Inspirations Choir. She has produced the Night of Healing each year since 9-11 and she is currently in the final planning stages of the Youth Xplosion scheduled for Summer 2006.

Toya is a native of New Jersey where she currently resides with her beloved dog, Maxx.
