Ruben
Toro
A native New Yorker who started his musical journey at Club Shelter as
a bus boy. While working at the club, legendary DJ Timmy Regisford helped
cultivate Ruben's mixing ability. Several years later, Ruben reached his
goal by becoming the premiere DJ at the Shelter. Since then, like many
other DJ's, Ruben set his sights on radio.
In 1996, Ruben and Timmy went on to open a weekly party, "The Temple,"
at the TUNNEL in NYC. The legendary "Club Shelter" made its
return in 1997, and Ruben became the premiere opening DJ. During that
time, he went on to do guest appearances for a mix show entitled "KISS
Club Classics" on 98.7 KISS FM.
Since then , KISS has quickly taken notice to this young, muti-talented
DJ and decided to make him a part of the KISS family. "KISS Club
Classics" has recently gone on to become New York's #1 Saturday night
mix shows. As he grows as a DJ, Ruben is also becoming a well known name
in the music production. Ruben did his first remix with Osunlade - "Don't
Change," by Erro. He then produced "Heavenly Light," by
Dawn Tallmen, "Happy Birthday Baby," by Cassio Ware.
Now you can listen for yourself every Saturday night from 12AM-5AM during KISS Club Classics where Ruben blends the best in Garage/Loft classics and soulful underground
house music.
