Chris Murray is a Newark, New Jersey native. As a child, he was a percussionist
in his mother’s band, which consisted of his brothers and sisters.
The release of one of their records led him to visit a radio station.
His interest then digressed from music to radio broadcasting. While in
high school, he was taught radio broadcasting by Bugsy and Sergio Dean.
Still a teenager, he hosted a love show, and worked on-air as an engineer
with
Dr. Gwendolyn Goldsby Grant (Essence Magazine). He was able to sharpen
his skills, and helped teach broadcasting to Newark high school kids,
at Joyce Carter’s Quest Vibrations Radio Team with Richard Bey.
His experience took him from New Jersey, to Virginia, and North Carolina.
During his time N.C. he was said to be the youngest Morning Drive announcer,
and News Director on commercial radio in the state. Years later, he was
called by Bob Law to be an Air Personality at New York’s legendary
WWRL.
Chris is on his way to a B.A. in psychology. He believes that people have
far more mental strength and control in their lives than many realize;
and what they don’t have (that's needed), God will provide. He also
believes that what will chase us most in life is fear and guilt (one's
conscience).
Chris has an appreciation for good musicianship and a strong groove. He’s
also a devoted KISS listener. “When you hear one of your favorite
“Old School” songs on KISS-FM, it helps you reflect on the
fun you had back in the day. It makes you feel good!”
Being a member
of the Kiss family was one of his life long dreams.
