SOME FACTS ABOUT BOB SLADE

• Peabody Award winning radio journalist for "The Rise and Fall of Vee-Jay Records," producer and critic for WRKS-FM (KISS-FM) in NYC for 30 years;

• On-Air personality on the Wake Up Club featuring Jeff Fox, Talent and Shaila from 6 A.M. to 10 A.M. and previously on the Isaac Hayes Morning Show;

• He began doing news radio in 1971 at a Long Island radio station, and then he proceeded to a radio station in Upstate New York. It was in 1980 that Bob joined the KISS family and became its News Director.

• Bob's ability to answer almost any question regarding entertainment, sports, music, past events, and current affairs has made him the 98.7 KISS FM historian on just about any subject. His diverse knowledge on music, Black History and the Women's movement is simply impressive and encyclopedic.

• Bob has won two Achievement In Radio Awards; The first for the Best Night Time Show (Soul Beginnings), and the other in 1997 for Soul Beginnings.

• The recipient of the 1998 & 2002 New York Metro A.I.R. Award for the “Best Public Affairs Program” for KISS-FM’s "Open Line Show."

• Recipient of two Armstrong Awards from Columbia University (one of them was for his documentary on the history of Black music). Other awards he received were from CEBA, United Press International and International Radio Festival of New York.

• Recipient of the Garden State Association of Black Journalists award for the best syndicated show, Visions of Black America, as producer and writer

•  Known on the Show as “The FlameThrower”, Peter Noel is described as bold and brash in his commentary on contemporary issues and politics in New York City and in the nation with one of the most unique voices on talk radio; and

•  Peter Noel has been one of New York City 's most sought-after reporters for over 20 years.

•  From 1990 until 2001, Peter was an investigative reporter for The Village Voice , covering New York City politics and issues.

•  Noel has taken on some of the toughest assignments, including the racial upheavals in Crown Heights , the riots in Los Angeles following the Rodney King verdict, post-apartheid election violence in South Africa , and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

•  In addition to The Voice, Noel's cover stories have appeared in New York Magazine and The New York Observer.

•  Charles W. Ethridge, III, known as the CutMan on the Show, is a former advertising executive and managing partner for a leading black advertising agency in New York City ;

•  The CutMan has over thirty years of experience in the advertising industry and has been a tireless advocate for more diversity and opportunities within the industry for people of color; and

•  The Cutman has given of his vast expertise marketing and advertising in support of numerous causes and community based programs such as the African Famine Relief, Cesar Chavez farm workers initiative, helping to free worked Nelson Mandela during his long period of incarceration in South Africa; and
