“Another’s Man Poison”

George O Broome’s, “Another Man’s Poison” is a hilarious play, which exposes the difficulties one faces along with their loved ones when confronted with stardom & fame. Frankie Masters a Vietnam vet, then struggling comedian, turns to show biz after being given the opportunity to have his own network television show. While on the rode to success, Frankie’s commitment to his family is sacrificed. Not only does the play address the importance of family it also touches on women's liberation, racism, war & gender identity.

The cast features Leland Gantt (Ma Rainey's Black Bottom) as Frankie Masters, Penelope Lowder as Pauline Phillips, James Edward Shippy (Behind Closed Doors, The Meeting) as Alan Phillips, Steve Greenstein ("Confessions of a Shopaholic") as Mel Stein, Toni Stanton as Sarah and Dennis Hearn ("Boardwalk Empire") as Dick.

Another Man’s Poison is the archetypical Hollywood story of achieving success at a costly price. Without a doubt, I enjoyed the play tremendously. I was laughing from start to finish & mulling over the comments made.  If you love drama, comedy & controversial issues this is the play for you. Don’t waste any time go see “Another Man’s Poison”.

Question; have you ever put your career first knowing that your family's happiness would be sacrificed? Respond back & let me know :-)
