Tommie Allen
This name is no stranger in the music industry. Over twenty years of playing music professionally, his recognition as a disc jockey began in the late 80's at the Club Spectrum in Long Island , a regular get-together for sports and entertainment celebrities. He has also served as the resident DJ for Kiss FM's Celebrity Basketball games. Additionally, Tommie was a featured guest on Fox 5's “After Breakfast” on June 27 1997. Furthermore, he can be heard as the producer of several remixes on various radio stations.
Tommie Allen is the DJ of choice for many memorable events in New York as well as abroad. Some of his notable events include being the east coast premier DJ of the 1996 Sinbad Soul Funk Fest, NBA All star games, Snapple, One World Magazine, Tiffany's and United Negro College Fund and a Grammy Awards celebration for James Brown.
Tommie has skillfully performed and patrons are pleasingly overwhelmed by the mastery of his club, house, old school and r&b music. He has successfully demonstrated his skills at clubs throughout the NYC area such as the Theatre at Madison Square Garden, Roxy, Copacabana, Tabu Night Club, Sugar Hill Supper Club, Carib New York and 200 Fifth Club.
Along with the demand as New York 's Sophisticated DJ, Tommie serves as a special education teacher at his alma mater Canarsie High School , where he teaches and coaches high school varsity basketball. Tommie earned both his Bachelors and Masters at C.W. Post College .
Tommie Allen's modest approach to the music industry with his sophisticated style and attire earned him the title " New York 's Sophisticated DJ” as featured in local New York newspapers such as the Daily News and New York Beacon.
